Sesame Street Turns 40

Yep, Sesame Street has hit the big 4-0!

It will have an anniversary show on 11/10/2009.

If you have Googled lately, you will see Big Bird's legs as the "L."

In reading different article about it, the show has really kept a place in the education and entertainment of children. It tackles the issues that parents may have trouble explaining and put it in a way that kids understand. For instance, when the gentleman that played Mr. Hooper died in "real life" they wrote that into the show. How the characters dealt with it and so on.

I admit it, I grew up with Sesame Street, and even find myself watching it now especially when there is nothing on television. It is safe and asks for no remembering of the plot, character or trying to figure out what they are talking about. It is what it is, and definitely the reason kids stay in place to watch it.

*singing* Sunny day, sweeping the clouds away ...."
