A Family Affair

We all have families, therefore, we all have family drama.

This weekend, my cousin got married.

A blessed event right?

LOL - in my family? A funeral turns into something that there needs to be a camera crew.

I didn't go to the wedding, but the pre-wedding drama is enough to let me know I don't need to ride three hours to see more.

My cousin is marrying a woman that he has been dating for about eight years. They have been living together for most of that time. The drama? His divorce just became final last week.

The kicker is the wife knew about the girlfriend, his children knew about the girlfriend. In fact, the wedding invitation had a family photo of her and her son, and him with his children all on the wedding invitation.

The girlfriend thinks he has been divorced all this time. Like I said, the divorce was just final this week (seriously). Talk about down to the wire.

Well, the wedding and some of the family are going. They are getting dressed where? The ex-wife's house.

This is a true story. Like the saying goes, "truth is stranger than fiction."

Even with my imagination, I couldn't come up with a storyline like this, but I tell you - it might end up in one of my manuscripts. It's great entertainment.

Peachy,

I think maybe you should send this one to Tyler Perry. Medea could raise all kinds of hell with this story. Seriously though, I think it's kind of cool the parties involved are being rather mature about the whole situation.

You are so right Crissy. Tyler could do wonders with this story. LOL This is just the tip of the iceberg with some of my family's adventures, but you know we are all alike, so we all have funny family tales. Ahhh family, you can't give them away - so you're stuck.
